Let's create organic

Jesus-type communities that actually work

Your life's meaning is spelled "belonging". Do you have a healthy community of faith around you?

Speaking of labels: We call authentic non-institutional communities “bootleg” around here. So what's with all the mob terminology? Ask me, and I'll make a video about it! Seriously!

Does this sound like you?

  • You "go to" church, but you wonder if real church is something something you "go to".

  • You attend and hope that the sermon of the day is somehow relevant for your life - and sometimes it may be.

  • You just have to trust that the preacher knows what he or she is talking about biblically. Someone trained them, right? RIGHT??

  • You often wonder, is "confessional church Jesus" really the Jesus of Nazareth, or a merely institutionalized (and domesticated) version thereof?

  • You're asking yourself: Why can't I learn from other christians at church? And why do I need an appointment to speak to anyone in leadership?

  •  Where am I supposed to ask my life's questions and share each others' journeys? Oh, that’s a Wednesday evening thing, led by other leaders? Got it!

You're not alone!

At Prohibition Theology, we have experienced this in multiple countries and church types. The dilemma seems overwhelming.

Our solution? We started numerous organic churches that actually worked at the level of belonging - non-hierarchical communities situated in real life!

Sounds too hard to do? With Prohibition Theology's experience, coaching help and hands-on resources, it is entirely doable.

In a few short months, you can…

  • ... enjoy the solid beginnings of a much more meaningful community

What's included in the Organic Community Builder?

MODULE 1

The Art of reading the Bible well

Access (and use communally) our entire course on quality Biblical interpretation that takes its first century origins (in the case of the New Testament) seriously and makes powerful connections to today that actually make sense. No simplistic "applications" here, but deep transformation.

Use this how-to course for your communal times of study! Let others benefit without you even having to create any special content yourself!

  • Let's learn about Jesus of Nazareth through their first century eyes, not those of todays institutional christendom.
  • Understand the whole point of being church in this world - your local world! Spoiler alert: It's far more meaningful than a mere spiritual club to be attended on weekends.
  • Rediscover the relational health and freedom that is the gospel. It far exceeds the top-down management your typical church enforces

Use this module to help others who join improve their understanding of the Bible. No need to reinvent the wheel.

MODULE 2

An intro to Jesus' and the Bible's teaching through first century eyes

Again, use this material as content to share with others in your emerging community. Make it a point of inviting other believers to share in the studies. They will not get this kind of quality content in your typical institutional church.

    • How to interpret Jesus' parables without reducing them to personal evangelism - read them for what they actually were: explosive communal challenges for God's people!
    • You also get access to a complete course that explores the fascinating apocalyptic texts of the Bible - both Testaments. Perfect for communal times around the biblical text!
    • This will challenge and much improve your understanding of God involvement in history. No silly end time speculation here - but faithful quality interpretation that they would recognize!

You and your community will enjoy a rejuvenated sense of our roles in this world!

MODULE 3

What is the point of God's people in this world?

Speaking of, it is remarkable how little christians tend to be aware of the role of churches in this world. This module changes that by asking (and answering) these questions:

  • Does God need the church? Your church? For what purpose?
  • How does church fit in the entire biblical narrative of god and world? Knowing that will revolutionize your emerging community's vision for your local environment and your neighbors.
  • What are the continuities and discontinuities between church and Israel? What difference does it make? [In short: It infuses your community with a mission to help renew this world.]

You’ll finish this module with solid understanding of your role in your world and how to benefit from that role. Community and relationships will become the number one priority in your life.

MODULE 4

The Do's and Don'ts of starting a meaningful organic community

This is the hands-on part of the experience.

  • How to ensure the new community is based on healthy dynamics and relationships whereby life's meaning is rejuvenated. Overcome the lingering depression of sometimes feeling pointless in this world
  • Ensure confidently that the community does not devolve into yet another institution where the few end up managing the many (who merely attend). You won't be a single leader, but with our resources you will be one of the main catalysts in your community - without the stress to perform.
  •  Every church member needs to be empowered to co-create the communal experience as they can. This module focuses on making that a reality

Prohibition Theology will be alongside you as part of a digital community of support, including live online meetings. All that is included in the experience.

Your top four outcomes:

  • A community that actually embodies good news in your life and neighborhood

  • A sense of personal empowerment that takes the fear out of starting a new community.

  • A renewed belief that Jesus' vision for this world really is good news - and not just after death!

  • A much-improved understanding of both Jesus and the biblical witness to him.
