Hi all

I’d love to get everyone caught up with Prohibition Theology news. In particular, I’d like to introduce you in a LIVE meeting on SIDECAR tomorrow at 7pm Eastern to a new Prohibition Theology resource - called MOONSHINE - for Bible teachers that I’m getting ready for publication. It overcomes the issues of Bible teachers often having to rely on random or outdated resources that may not be appropriate for quality interpretation of those texts. Many of our existing recources aren't technically interpretive at all. MOONSHINE consists of short dedicated introductory videos that follow this pattern for each New Testament book and that will only be available to those who sign up for MOONSHINE:

• The three most crucial (and typically overlooked!) things to understand about that particular book (3 min)
• Three sample/key texts from that book to illustrate the significant difference made by good honest interpretation (9 min)
• Three suggestions for how excellent interpretation of those texts connects with (or challenges) our modern realities (3min).
• Three specific ideas for highly targeted group work that you can have your Bible study participants complete to get into the text as part of your teaching (3 min).
• Two minutes of illustration of how other parts of the same biblical book will be affected similarly by improved interpretation.

In other words, you get 20 minutes total for each of our 27 New Testament books - dedicated content, not shared on social media. No fluff and no needless speculation about things that do not or should not affect our interpretation. You can use MOONSHINE for Bible study purposes in your church or preaching or small group activities or for yourself. Others will not have access to it.

This is designed to introduce better interpretation than we are typically used to in our world of churches (and even many seminaries). It's a bridge between the best of scholarship and your commitment to reading the Bibel well. Also, to show that better interpretation makes a biblical text more, not less relevant.

Only people who will buy MOONSHINE – which will be cheaper than Prohibition Theology’s full length courses - will have access to this resource. If you’re a Bible study leader or preacher, this will make your task much easier and cut down on your preparation. I’m effectively doing much of your work for you. But more importantly, it illustrates to you how superior interpretive practices do better justice to the biblical texts. 

The focus is firmly on practical interpretation, not on the theoretical backdrop of a full-scale course (such as my "The Narrative Experience"). 

Join me and others on SIDECAR for one hour tomorrow (Sunday) evening or afternoon depending on your time zone, and help me put finishing touches to the concept before we publishing the first batch. You can either download the Kajabi app and log into SIDECAR (click on “Library” at the bottom and find the link to the SIDECAR meeting), or use the link in a separate email that you will receive either today or tomorrow, before the meeting. If you do not receive the email, make sure you have opted into email communciations from Prohibition Theology. You will still be able to log in via the Kajabi app. But make sure have SIDECAR to log into the meeting (the store link to get SIDECAR is a few lines up, this paragraph).
